En el corazón mismo de la Dr. Z Academy está Jorge Iván Zuluaga Callejas, divulgador científico, investigador, profesor universitario, esposo, padre de familia y mamagallista de tiempo completo. Conocido entre sus allegados como Z y entre los no tan cercanos como Doctor Z.
Jorge Zuluaga es Físico de la Universidad de Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia) donde obtuvo también la maestría en física en 2001 y el doctorado en física en 2005, trabajando bajo la orientación del profesor Enrico Nardi en física teórica y fenomenología de partículas elementales.
