Jorge Zuluaga es Físico de la Universidad de Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia) donde obtuvo también la maestría en física en 2001 y el doctorado en física en 2005, trabajando bajo la orientación del profesor Enrico Nardi en física teórica y fenomenología de partículas elementales.
